In 1995 I set out to purchase some sheep for our pasture. After some research and touring a local farm, I came home with emus! At the time my wife and I knew nothing about emus, (my wife thought I was crazy) but I was intrigued by their uniqueness. Our main interest at the time was to produce saleable offspring from our two breeding pairs and to have a sustainable source of meat that was free of chemicals and hormones. It was a bonus that emu is a red meat without the saturated fat and the cholesterol problems usually associated with red meat. However; through working with another local breeder and gathering information from research books, studies, and the AEA (American Emu Association), we really became aware of the most unique and beneficial product from the emu, the oil! We were amazed by the moisturizing and therapeutic benefits that were being realized by researchers and soon, were trying it on our own skin and our son’s eczema with awesome results.
Now, years later, we continue to be amazed by the oil and by the tremendous positive feedback from our customers. We receive testimonials from people who use our products for a variety of problems such as dermatitis, burns, arthritis, and also as an excellent facial moisturizer! Pets with injurys and skin issues also benefit from the use of our emu oil products!
Our company, Fern Bluff Ranch LLC, began developing a line of products based with Emu Oil (Nest Egg Emu Products) in 1997. At that time we began marketing the line at craft shows and local farmers markets. Today, we continue to service customers at regular farmers markets here in Western Washington. To more conveniently serve our out-of-state customers, we have expanded to include some retail outlets and now, this internet site. Will you join us?
